Part# 1408628 is the replacement Door Latch for Vermont Castings woodstoves.

Fits the following models:

This latch works with the 30002721 handle assembly with set screw, 1200334 socket set screw, and the 00004342 fallaway handle unless otherwise specified in your owners manual.

Vermont Castings has had a challenging history. Originally based in Vermont, Vermont Castings was purchased by a company called CFM (Canadian Fireplace Manufacturers).  CFM proceeded to ‘restructure’ corporately a few times, and was eventually purchased by a company called HHT.  Because Vermont Castings changed ownership and moved production so many times, not to mention the thousands of replacement parts in their stoves – accessing the correct replacement part on a timely basis is not always easy.
