Fantech CM3000 Air Cleaner – TRUE HEPA (Collar-Mount)

Model NO.: CM3000 , Fantech TRUE HEPA Air Cleaner.

COLLAR-MOUNT KIT INCLUDES:

2 pieces of 8″ flex, 4 collars and hanging straps

THE SIX  MAIN CAPTURE / PURIFYING  TECHNOLOGIES:

  1. MAC    Media Air Cleaners ( Mechanical )
  2. EAC     Electronic Air Cleaners ( Electrostatic Precipitation )
  3. HEPA  High-Efficiency Particulate Air Filtration Systems
  4. UV-C   Ultra-Violet (C-band) Germicidal Mitigation Lights
  5. UV-V   Ultra-Violet (V-band) Chemical Vapour Mitigation Lights
  6. PCO    Photo Catalytic Oxidation

*** Note,  none of the above technologies will eliminate harmful Radon Gas if present in your home.

1)  MAC – Media Air Cleaners (Mechanical)

Media Air Cleaners are typically 4″ to 6″ in width, much more than your original 1″ furnace filter. More surface area means more collection area, longer filter life, and a lower static pressure. Note, these filters do not need anti-bacterial spray on them because they do not allow bacteria to breed due to the content of the fibers. Anti-bacterial and Micro ban filters should never be used in a home with small children.

Installation is in the return air duct closest to the furnace blower compartment. This location provides the most even air flow across the filter and allows the Media Air Cleaner to keep the system motor and fan clean. No electrical hook-up is required.

2)  EAC –  Electronic  Air Cleaners  (Electrostatic Precipitation)

The first “Precipitron” or Electronic Air Cleaner was developed by Westinghouse in 1935. By the 1940’s  it was used in homes, offices, hospitals,  and factories literally electrocuting dust and dirt everywhere. To this day, they are still the tried and true method of air cleaning, and offer benefits over other air purification technologies. Their operating costs are low, using less energy than a 40 watt light bulb.

They operate with a very low static pressure drop otherwise known as airflow resistance. Their filters can be washed and re-used over and over again for many years. Electronic Air Cleaners are typically 7″ to 12″ in width, much more than your original 1″ furnace filter.

Installation is in the return air duct closest to the furnace blower compartment. This location provides the most even air flow across the filter and allows the Electronic Air Cleaner to keep the system motor and fan clean.  Electrical hook-up is required.

3)  HEPA  – (High Efficiency Particulate Air)

True HEPA filtration systems are regarded as the best form of air filtration, utilizing a special type of extended surface, deep-bedded, randomly positioned fibrous material media. They are typically installed in hospitals, labs, and clean rooms  to create a contamination-free environment. Note, not all HEPA filters are the same . . .  For a filter to be called “True HEPA”, it must be certified. We will only provide certified true HEPA solutions. True HEPA filtration systems are typically 45 to 90 lbs. in total weight, and have their own powered fans in order to keep good air flow in your system. Electrical hook-up is required.

4)  UV-C   Ultra-Violet (C-band) Germicidal Mitigation Lights

For over a century scientists have known that certain frequencies of light have a devastating effect on microbial life. We now know that exposure to ultraviolet light in the range of 254 NM (UV-C band) disrupts the DNA of micro-organisms thus preventing them from reproducing, thereby effectively killing them. UV light disinfection is now widely used in hospitals and laboratories to sanitize instruments and work surfaces and to prevent the spread of potentially lethal airborne infectious diseases. The technology is used by the food industry to sterilize food before packaging and water treatment systems large and small now incorporate UV light as a chemical-free means of purification.

Installation of a germicidal UV light inside your furnace, inhibits the growth of mold which saves energy by allowing the system to operate more efficiently. A cleaner system also requires less maintenance. Because it works inside your furnace, a whole-house UV air purifier is able to intercept airborne pathogens and destroy them as they pass by. As air cycles through the system it passes by the UV light many times exposing and re-exposing airborne microbes to it’s sterilizing effect. This has proven to be a safe, economical, chemical free way to significantly reduce airborne contaminants indoors.

5)  UV-V   Ultra-Violet (V-band) Chemical Vapour Mitigation Lights

The UV-C (254 nm) and UV-V (187 nm) light produced by Sanuvox UV Systems are the same two UV wavelengths produced by the Sun. The UV-C wavelength attacks the microorganism on a molecular level deactivating and destroying the contaminant while the UV-V wavelength oxidizes the chemicals and odours into odourless inoffensive by-products.

Unlike conventional UV “stick lights” on the market, Sanuvox UV Air Purification Systems use a patented process designed to deliver the maximum UV dosage to the moving air-stream. With a 3 year Lamp life, the proprietary 18” high-intensity UV ‘J’ Lamp has all the advantages of having the intensity of two UV Lamps with the replacement cost of only one. The combination UV-C & UV-V wavelengths incorporated into one lamp make biological, chemical and odour destruction possible.

6)  PCO  –  Photo Catalytic Oxidation

PCO is an emerging technology in the HVAC industry. PCO is not a filtering technology as it does not trap or remove particles. PCO will completely oxidize and degrade organic contaminants including bacteria and viruses. As well it will render toxic gases like Carbon Monoxide; Nitrous Oxide; and Formaldehyde gases harmless. PCO uses short-wave ultraviolet light (UV-C), commonly used for sterilization, to energize the catalyst (usually titanium dioxide).
