Vermont Castings has had a challenging history.  Originally based in Vermont, Vermont Castings was purchased by a company called CFM (Canadian Fireplace Manufacturers).  CFM proceeded to ‘restructure’ corporately a few times, and was eventually purchased by a company called HHT.  Because Vermont Castings changed ownership and moved production so many times, not to mention the thousands of replacement parts in their stoves – accessing the correct replacement part on a timely basis is not always easy.

Note:  If you have these models,  Defiant 1910, Defiant 1610, Defiant 1945, use the  1600657 Wood Griddle Knob listed elsewhere instead. This knob, 1600657, fastens directly to the front of the griddle and does not use the little arm, it looks like this knob but is different.
