Vermont Castings Handle Stub & Shaft 5004237 Specification:

Replacement front door steel handle stub & Shaft (nickel) and shaft for Vermont Castings Wood, Gas, and Coal Stoves. Measurements: 4 Long x thread length 1-1/4. Please NOTE: This is the current style handle stub/shaft that is used with the current fallaway handle.  If you have an earlier handle design that screws into the stub, this is the correct replacement and you will also need part number 0004342 to fully upgrade. Additions: Vermont Castings has had a challenging history.  Originally based in Vermont, Vermont Castings was purchased by a company called CFM (Canadian Fireplace Manufacturers).  CFM proceeded to ‘restructure’ corporately a few times, and was eventually purchased by a company called HHT.  Because Vermont Castings changed ownership and moved production so many times, not to mention the thousands of replacement parts in their stoves – accessing the correct replacement part on a timely basis is not always easy.
